One Professional Keratin Fiber Platform, Two Retail Sizes and a Complete Application System
How KINODIN coordinated 5g and 12g hair building fibers, a broad shade range, precision application, hold spray and hairline tools for an established premium-positioned brand.
Direct answer: KINODIN helped an established professional brand develop a structured keratin hair fiber system rather than a single loose-fiber SKU. The program used a 5g entry-size bottle and a 12g regular-size bottle, supported by a broad multi-shade range, fiber hold spray, precision applicator and hairline tool. This gave the brand multiple purchase options while preserving one recognizable application routine and a controlled manufacturing specification.
Confidentiality statement: The customer’s brand, country, website, marketplace, badges, exact ratings, recommendation percentages, sales figures, commercial terms and proprietary formula details are withheld. Publicly visible market performance has been generalized as long-term marketplace recognition and positive consumer feedback to prevent reverse identification.
The customer was not launching an untested novelty product. It was building a professional hair concealer brand for consumers who valued natural-looking density, precise application and a dependable routine. The core material direction was keratin-based hair building fiber, selected for its hair-like visual character and premium product positioning.
The commercial brief combined product performance with portfolio design. A smaller bottle needed to make the category easier to try or carry, while the regular bottle needed to support everyday use and repeat purchase. Multiple shades were required to cover different hair-color families, and the brand wanted accessories that could make the result more controlled than simple shake-on application.

A professional hair fiber brand faces two connected challenges. First, the applied result must look natural across different hair colors and thinning patterns. Second, consumers must understand which size and accessory to choose. A large bottle can feel like too much commitment for a first-time buyer, while a small bottle may not suit a frequent user. A broad shade range improves matching but adds inventory and quality-control complexity.
The customer also wanted strong resistance to everyday conditions. However, the fiber material alone does not create the complete wear experience. Fiber length, electrostatic behavior, application density, existing-hair condition, moisture exposure and the use of a compatible hold spray all influence performance. Absolute claims such as “waterproof” or “sweatproof” should therefore be based on the final approved system and supporting tests.
From a manufacturing perspective, the two bottle sizes could not be treated as a simple packaging swap. Fill control, sieve geometry, cap security, label area, applicator compatibility and retail presentation had to be checked for each format. The project needed a specification that protected the premium user experience while remaining practical for repeated production.
The brief combined five development goals:
KINODIN first worked from the intended cosmetic effect: lightweight fibers that distribute among existing hair and reduce visible contrast with the scalp. The fibers needed to create a natural-looking density effect without appearing like coarse cut material or heavy surface powder.
Keratin is a protein associated with natural hair structure, which supports a familiar premium ingredient story. In this project, the keratin fiber material was animal derived. That positioning can suit brands whose target consumers accept animal-derived ingredients, but it should not be described as vegan or plant based. The final ingredient declaration must follow the approved formula rather than a generic marketing description.
The 5g bottle created a lower-commitment format that could support first purchase, travel, sampling campaigns or compact kits. The 12g bottle provided a more substantial regular-use option without moving immediately into an oversized container.
This size ladder allowed the brand to serve different customers without creating unrelated formulas. Both formats were built around the same approved performance direction, while their filling, packaging and labeling requirements were managed separately.
| Development Area | 5g Format | 12g Format | Shared Requirement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Commercial role | Entry, travel or compact kit | Regular retail and repeat use | Clear size hierarchy |
| Packaging focus | Compact bottle, readable artwork and secure closure | Regular-use bottle and accessory compatibility | Controlled sifter and fiber flow |
| Quality control | Small-fill accuracy and component fit | Fill consistency and repeated application | Approved shade, texture and appearance |
| Portfolio value | Reduces the first-purchase barrier | Supports the main retail offer | One recognizable professional system |
The range covered approximately nine shade directions across dark, brown, blonde, grey and specialty color families. The same shade name cannot be approved from a screen image alone. Fiber structure, application density, lighting and the consumer’s existing hair can all change the perceived result.
KINODIN used physical references and approved samples to control the shade direction. Proprietary color ratios and detailed production methods remain confidential. This allows the case to demonstrate color-development capability without publishing the customer’s commercially sensitive shade recipes.
A hair fiber spray applicator was used to direct fibers more precisely toward smaller thinning areas, the parting and the front hairline. A compatible optimizer helped protect the edge of the application zone and create a cleaner-looking hairline.
These accessories had to fit the selected bottle and dispensing structure. Thread fit, sealing, airflow, fiber release and ease of cleaning were practical product requirements. They were not treated as decorative items placed beside the bottle for photography.
The private label hair fiber hold spray completed the routine. It was positioned for use after the fibers, helping support the finished appearance under normal daily conditions.
The spray required its own evaluation for spray pattern, drying time, tack, stiffness, shine and interaction with the fibers. A strong-hold message is useful only when the product remains practical to apply and does not create an obviously wet or hard-looking result.
The completed system could be merchandised as individual products or as a guided kit: select the fiber shade and size, apply by shaker or precision sprayer, define the hairline with the optimizer, and finish with hold spray. This created a stronger product story than selling four unrelated components.
| System Component | Consumer Job | Manufacturing Focus | Portfolio Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keratin fibers | Create a fuller-looking effect | Fiber texture, shade, flow and fill | Hero product |
| Precision applicator | Direct fibers to targeted areas | Fit, seal, airflow and controlled release | Professional application upgrade |
| Hairline optimizer | Create a cleaner application boundary | Shape, handling and kit compatibility | Hairline-detailing tool |
| Fiber hold spray | Finish and support the applied result | Formula feel, spray output and drying | Final step and repeat-use product |
The program required more than checking whether the bottle contained the correct color. Each product was evaluated individually, and the complete routine was checked as a connected system.
The approved samples became the reference for repeat manufacturing. Color names, bottle formats, component codes and artwork versions were controlled separately so that a packaging change would not silently alter the fiber or application system.
The brand’s continued marketplace presence and positive consumer feedback provided a market-level signal that the product concept was understood. Because marketplace badges, ratings and percentages can change over time—and can make a confidential case easy to identify—this article does not use exact figures as manufacturing proof.
The finished program gave the customer several ways to serve the market without weakening its premium identity. The 5g bottle created an accessible entry point, the 12g bottle supported regular retail use, and the broad shade range made the system relevant to more consumers. Hold spray and application tools converted the fibers into a more complete professional routine.
Project outcomes
The result should be understood operationally rather than as a promise of sales performance. KINODIN contributed product development, shade and packaging coordination, manufacturing and quality control. The customer remained responsible for brand strategy, advertising, marketplace operations, pricing and consumer communication.
Lesson 1
A small bottle is more useful when it serves a deliberate role—trial, travel, promotional set or compact kit. The regular bottle should remain clearly positioned as the main everyday format.
Lesson 2
A nine-shade range can improve consumer fit, but each shade adds inventory and quality-control requirements. Final approval should use physical fiber samples rather than a digital color chart alone.
Lesson 3
Resistance to wind, moisture or perspiration depends on more than the fiber ingredient. Application method, existing hair and hold spray all matter. Claims should follow testing of the final approved product and routine.
Lesson 4
Fibers, applicator, optimizer and hold spray create a sequence that is easier to teach and demonstrate. KINODIN can coordinate these components through its OEM and private label hair care services.
The case focused on a compact 5g hair fiber bottle and a regular 12g bottle. Other filling weights can be evaluated for different brand and channel requirements.
The customer used approximately nine shade directions. Exact shade formulas and sales ratios are confidential.
Not when the approved keratin is animal derived. Brands requiring vegan or plant-based positioning should consider a suitable cotton or other plant-based fiber system instead.
Yes. The approved kit can include hair fibers, a compatible applicator, a hairline optimizer, hold spray and customized printed packaging.
Water, sweat and wear claims should be based on the final approved fiber, application method, hold spray and supporting performance tests. “Water resistant” may be more appropriate than an absolute waterproof claim, depending on the evidence.
Useful starting information includes target market, preferred fiber material, bottle sizes, initial shade plan, applicator and kit requirements, packaging direction, expected order range and intended claims.
