OEM & Private Label Hair Care
KINODIN develops and manufactures private label dry shampoo for hair care brands, salon ranges, retailers and distributors. We support spray, powder, volumizing and tinted dry shampoo concepts with formula development, fragrance selection, packaging coordination, sampling, filling and production.
Each project is evaluated according to the target market, desired application format, oil-absorption performance, visible residue, hair feel, fragrance, packaging system and regulatory requirements.
Dry shampoo is used between conventional washes to help absorb excess oil at the roots, refresh the appearance of the hair and support faster styling. It does not replace normal shampoo and water-based cleansing, so the intended consumer use and product claims should be communicated accurately.
KINODIN can support ready-to-label formulas, modified base formulas and more customized development projects. The appropriate development route depends on the performance target, packaging, order quantity, launch schedule and destination market.
Adjust absorbency, residue, application, fragrance and after-feel according to the product brief.
Evaluate aerosol, pump, shaker or powder-dispensing packaging for the selected formula.
Support label, bottle, carton and product presentation development for your brand.
Confirm formula and packaging performance through samples before bulk manufacturing.
The format should be selected before finalizing the formula because the dispensing system, powder particle characteristics, viscosity and packaging compatibility are closely connected.
Spray dry shampoo provides fast and even application across the roots. Development should consider spray distribution, drying time, fragrance release, powder settling, valve or pump compatibility and the amount of visible residue after brushing.
Loose-powder dry shampoo can be positioned as a portable, non-aerosol or minimalist product. The main development considerations include powder flow, dosage control, oil absorption, application precision and the risk of excessive powder release.
A volumizing concept combines root refresh with texture and styling support. It may be suitable for fine or flat hair, but the balance between grip, movement and residue must be evaluated during sampling.
Tinted dry shampoo can reduce the visible contrast sometimes associated with pale absorbent powders. Shade direction may be developed for black, brown, blonde or other hair-color groups, subject to formula and pigment evaluation.
| Format | Typical Positioning | Key Development Checks |
|---|---|---|
| Spray | Fast, convenient root refresh | Spray pattern, valve or pump, residue and drying |
| Loose Powder | Portable or non-aerosol concept | Powder flow, dosage and application control |
| Volumizing | Fine or flat hair and styling support | Grip, volume, brushability and after-feel |
| Tinted | Dark, brown, blonde or custom shade concepts | Shade appearance, transfer, residue and stability |
A successful dry shampoo formula is not determined only by how much powder it contains. The formula must balance oil absorption, visible cleanliness, ease of application, hair feel, fragrance and compatibility with the dispensing system.
Absorbent materials and their proportions should be selected according to the target hair type, product format and desired sensory profile. Excessive absorbency may leave hair feeling dry, while poorly dispersed powder may create visible residue, especially on dark hair.
Samples can be evaluated for root freshness, powder visibility, stiffness, texture, brushability and the feeling left on the hair after application. A volumizing product may intentionally provide more grip than a lightweight daily-refresh formula.
Fragrance can be adjusted according to the brand identity and target consumer. The scent should also be assessed in the finished base because powder ingredients, solvents and packaging may affect fragrance perception.
Botanical powders, conditioning ingredients, fragrance systems and other supporting materials may be considered according to the product brief. Final ingredient claims and free-from statements should only be used after the formula and relevant documentation have been confirmed.
Packaging should be selected together with the formula. A visually attractive bottle is not sufficient if the valve, pump, orifice or powder dispenser cannot deliver the product consistently.
Aerosol projects may require additional evaluation relating to the filling route, container pressure, leakage, transport classification and destination-market requirements. These details should be confirmed before quotation and production.

The testing program depends on the formula format, packaging system and target market. Typical quality-control considerations may include:
Available documentation and testing requirements should be confirmed according to the final formula, packaging and destination market. See our quality control process and certification and documentation information.
The MOQ for private label dry shampoo depends on the formula type, filling route, packaging availability, decoration method and customization level. Stock formulas and existing packaging normally provide a simpler development route than fully customized formulas or specially manufactured packaging.
Before confirming bulk production, we recommend evaluating samples for oil absorption, visible residue, scent, application, brushability, hair feel and packaging performance.
