Hair Concealer Color Matching

Hair concealer shades are evaluated using more than a shade name. Depending on the product, we consider:

• Color depth from black through brown, blonde, gray and white
• Warm, cool or neutral undertones
• Material type, fiber length or powder characteristics
• Coverage and application density
• Appearance on hair, scalp or the root area
• Lighting and comparison conditions
• Differences between bulk samples and applied results
• The approved reference for future production

A physical reference sample is generally more useful than photographs alone because screens, cameras and lighting can change the apparent color.
