Private Label 75 ml Root Touch-Up Aerosol Spray for an International Hair Concealer Brand

Hair Concealer Manufacturing Case

Six Approved Shades, KINODIN-Supplied Packaging and 12,000 Units

An international hair concealer brand developed a private label 75 ml root touch-up aerosol spray through a project coordinated by KINODIN. The program covered six shades, aerosol cans and related packaging supplied by KINODIN, customer testing before approval and a subsequent bulk production order of 12,000 finished units.

Confidentiality note: The customer name, brand identity, shade names, formulation details, pricing and selected production information have been withheld. The facts presented below reflect KINODIN’s actual role in coordinating the order.

Customer Objective

A Fast, Temporary Root-Coverage Format

The customer required a compact aerosol product positioned for temporary root touch-ups. Unlike a permanent hair-color treatment, this format is intended for targeted cosmetic coverage between regular coloring sessions. The 75 ml can provided a portable retail size while maintaining the convenience of direct aerosol application.

The project was not limited to placing a logo on a single-color stock item. Six shades had to progress through sample evaluation and approval before a multi-shade bulk order could be arranged. Packaging supply also had to be coordinated with the selected aerosol system and final production plan.

KINODIN’s Role

Coordinating the Order Across Product and Packaging

KINODIN participated in the order arrangement and coordinated the project through its manufacturing network, including the specialist aerosol-production resources required for this type of pressurized product. KINODIN also supplied and coordinated the aerosol cans and related packaging components used for the finished order.

01

Order Planning

Coordinating the 75 ml format, six-shade structure and production requirements.

02

Packaging Supply

Providing and coordinating the aerosol cans and associated packaging components.

03

Sample Stage

Supporting a sample-first route so the customer could test before committing to bulk production.

04

Bulk Coordination

Arranging the approved six-shade specification for production of 12,000 finished units.

Six-Shade Development

Managing More Than One Generic Brown or Black

A six-shade aerosol range requires more control than a single-color product. Every shade becomes a separate approval reference and production item. Shade identity must remain clear through sampling, order confirmation, packaging preparation and filling so that the correct color is matched with the correct finished presentation.

Physical testing was important because color names and screen images cannot communicate the complete applied result. The customer tested the samples and approved the project before mass production. This created a defined reference point for the subsequent 12,000-unit order.

For other private label buyers, the practical number of launch shades should be planned together with the total order quantity and minimum quantity per shade. A broad range can improve market coverage, but only when each color can be produced and packaged efficiently.

Packaging Coordination

Supplying the 75 ml Aerosol Package as a Complete System

The customer did not need to source the aerosol cans and related components independently. KINODIN supplied and coordinated the packaging used for the order. For an aerosol product, the can is not merely a decorative container: it must be considered together with the valve, actuator, cap, filling specification and formula compatibility.

Coordinating packaging through the same project helped keep the product format, component preparation and bulk-production arrangement aligned. It also gave the customer one commercial point of contact for the finished private label program.

Sample Approval

Testing Came Before the 12,000-Unit Commitment

The project moved through customer testing before bulk production. This sequence was important because a root touch-up aerosol should be evaluated as a finished application system—not only as a formula sample. The customer was able to review the physical product and approve it before the larger order was released.

KINODIN recommends the same sample-first approach for new projects. Coverage direction, applied color, spray behavior, drying experience, temporary wear and washout expectations should be agreed according to the customer’s intended positioning. Only claims supported by the approved product and relevant evidence should be used on the final packaging.

Bulk Production

Scaling the Approved Project to 12,000 Units

After customer testing and approval, the project progressed to bulk production of 12,000 finished 75 ml aerosol cans across six shades. Moving from samples to this volume required the approved product direction, shade structure and supplied packaging to be translated into a coordinated production order.

The completed program demonstrates the value of treating formulation, shade planning, aerosol components and order management as one system. For the customer, the result was not a collection of separately sourced parts, but a finished multi-shade private label aerosol product arranged through KINODIN.

What Buyers Can Learn

Four Practical Lessons from the Project

Approve Physical Shades

Digital color names are not enough for a multi-shade root-concealer program.

Test Before Scaling

Customer evaluation created the approval point before the 12,000-unit commitment.

Coordinate Aerosol Packaging

Can, valve, actuator, cap and formula should be handled as a compatible system.

Plan Quantity per Shade

Total quantity and per-shade production quantities must be confirmed together.
