Private Label 250 ml Repair Hair Mask for a French Hair Care Brand

How KINODIN delivered a complete 250 ml repair hair mask—from formula production and jar sourcing to label application and finished retail packaging.

A French hair care brand required a rinse-off mask positioned around nourishment, softness, shine and easier management of dry, fragile and textured hair. KINODIN supported the project as an integrated private label manufacturing partner, coordinating the product, packaging components, branded presentation and finished production.

The Client Brief

The customer was building a visually coordinated hair care range for the French market. The mask needed to fit the brand’s existing purple identity while adding a dedicated weekly treatment product to the routine.

The commercial concept focused on hair that feels dry, rough, fragile or difficult to manage. The desired user experience was a rich treatment that could spread through wet hair, support detangling and leave the lengths feeling softer and smoother after rinsing.

Unlike a benchmark-led development project, this product was not created to reproduce a named competitor. The work centered on delivering a suitable private label repair-mask format and coordinating all production and packaging elements into one market-ready SKU.

Building the Product Around the Intended Use Experience

A hair mask should not be evaluated only by how thick it appears in the jar. For this type of product, the complete application sequence matters: how the cream is scooped, how it spreads through damp hair, how it supports wet combing, how it rinses and how the hair feels after drying.

Rich cream format
A treatment texture suited to a wide-mouth retail jar and weekly application.
Conditioning performance
Developed around slip, detangling, softness and improved manageability.
After-feel
A smoother, softer cosmetic finish without relying on unsupported structural-repair claims.
Brand positioning
A nourishing repair mask designed to complement the customer’s wider hair care range.

KINODIN manufactured the formula according to the confirmed production specification. The final ingredient declaration was managed against the approved production information, rather than copied from an earlier online product description.

250 ml Jar and Branded Packaging Development

The customer selected a 250 ml wide-mouth jar, a practical format for a rich rinse-off mask. Compared with a narrow-neck bottle, the jar allows consumers to scoop the required amount easily and supports the visual expectations of a weekly deep-conditioning treatment.

KINODIN supplied and coordinated the jar, label and branded packaging. The finished presentation used a white jar and lid combined with the customer’s purple visual identity, creating consistency with the rest of the retail range.

Packaging development was treated as part of the product—not as a final decorative step. Formula fill, jar capacity, label dimensions, artwork placement and finished appearance had to work together before production could be completed.

Why label control matters

The ingredient declaration used on the final label must correspond to the confirmed production formula. Formula approval and artwork approval should therefore remain separate checkpoints, with the final INCI reviewed before labels or cartons are released for production.

Coordinated Manufacturing and Assembly

Once the product and packaging specifications were confirmed, KINODIN coordinated the manufacturing stages needed to convert the concept into finished retail units:

  1. Formula and finished-product specification confirmation
  2. Preparation of the 250 ml jars, lids, labels and branded packaging materials
  3. Bulk manufacturing under the confirmed production requirements
  4. Filling and weight-control checks
  5. Label application and packaging assembly
  6. Finished-product appearance and packing inspection before shipment preparation

Using one project team for formula production and packaging coordination reduced the risk of mismatched components, incorrect label dimensions or a jar presentation that did not suit the final product.

The Commercial Result

The completed 250 ml mask entered the customer’s French retail range as a dedicated repair and nourishing treatment. The brand positioned it for regular use on dry, fragile and textured hair and presented it alongside complementary oils, serums and leave-in products.

At the time this case was prepared, the finished hair mask was listed by the brand at €25. This provides a practical example of how a private label manufacturer can support more than bulk filling: the formula, package, branding components and finished production must function as one commercial product.

What Other Hair Care Brands Can Learn

  • Define the use experience first. Texture, wet slip, rinse feel and dry after-feel are more useful development targets than a long list of fashionable ingredients.
  • Choose packaging with the formula. Jar capacity, product density, fill level, label area and opening size should be reviewed together.
  • Control the final ingredient declaration. The approved production formula—not an old website description—must be the source for final label information.
  • Build a coherent range. Consistent color, typography and packaging details help a treatment mask look like part of an established product system rather than an isolated SKU.

Private Label Hair Mask Project FAQ

Can KINODIN coordinate both the formula and packaging?

Yes. This project included formula production, jar supply, label coordination, branded packaging, filling and finished-product assembly.

Is a 250 ml jar available for private label hair masks?

Yes. A 250 ml wide-mouth jar can be evaluated for retail hair mask projects. The final component is confirmed according to formula density, desired fill level, decoration and order quantity.

Can brands use their own colors and label design?

Yes. Label artwork, brand colors and retail presentation can be coordinated around available packaging and the selected decoration method.

Can the INCI be prepared for the destination market?

The final INCI must be generated from the approved production formula and reviewed before artwork is printed. Destination-market requirements and available supporting documents should be confirmed for each project.
